Technical advising as part of the job

Just spent a couple of weeks advising as a technical expert for two national education and development companies. Producing technical documents and validations for individuals undertaking group leadership roles on climbing and gorge scrambling sessions.

Why?

Well it is all very well having the highest mountaineering and technical qualifications, but if you keep your skills and knowledge to yourself then nobody benefits or (hopefully!) improves. Hence why I advise companies and individuals as a subject matter expert on mountaineering, climbing, walking and gorge scrambling (either in summer or winter conditions). At the very least it gets me out of the office – come to that I am never in the office!
